LITIGATION PARALEGAL

C. A. Goldberg, PLLC is a victims’ rights law firm that represents victims of online and offline harassment, stalking, assault, blackmail, child sexual exploitation, nonconsensual pornography, employment discrimination, and other forms of sexual harassment and violence.

This role will support our attorneys in all phases of litigation, including pre-litigation investigation, fact-gathering, and negotiations. You will also need the skills and experience to develop the firm’s procedures/practices for case management, docketing, and discovery and trial support.

The Job

  • Play a leading role in weekly legal team meetings.
  • Build a database of sample litigation papers
  • Develop legal team operations and case management procedures.
  • Track litigation schedules.
  • Provide support for all phases of discovery and trial preparation.
  • Direct and coordinate litigation activity, including but not limited to preparing and filing documents, service of subpoenas, coordination of deposition schedules, finalizing as needed.
  • Maintain attorney calendars and be responsible for court filings and tracking statutes of limitations.

The Candidate

  • At least five years of litigation experience; preferably on plaintiff-side personal injury cases
  • Completion from an ABA-approved paralegal certification program of education and training, or an associate degree in paralegal studies or higher.
  • Fluency with Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and New York Civil Practice Law and Rules.
  • Close familiarity with and ability to appropriately format filings and documents from all phases of litigation – including discovery demands, subpoenas, complaints/answers, and/or motions and supporting papers.
  • Comfortable with assertively enforcing internal and external deadlines.
  • Reliable, organized, and detail oriented.
  • Ability to handle and cope with traumatic subject matters.
