NYC event July 8: Screening of The Youtube Effect + Q&A with Carrie Goldberg

This Saturday July 8th join us for a screening of The Youtube Effect + Q&A with Carrie Goldberg, founder of C.A. Goldberg, PLLC, Director Alex Winter, Director of Photography Peter Nicoll, and disinformation expert, Runa Sandvic.

The Youtube Effect explores the ascension and acceleration of YouTube, a video-sharing website that started with humble origins and has gone on to change how we experience the world. The invention of YouTube illuminated a world of connection and possibility, but also division and violence. With exclusive access to some of YouTube’s biggest stars, the film presents an eye-opening and troubling look at the platform now so powerfully embedded in our lives, the journey of how we got here, and how we might reform the current situation.

The Youtube Effect will be playing all week at the Alamo Drafthouse Liberty Street in NY and available on digital platforms (iTunes, Googleplay, etc.) as well as Kanopy on August 8th.

Voices in the doc include: Carrie Goldberg, Caleb Cain, Steve Chen, Hany Farid, Ian Hecox, Loann Kaji, Ryan Kaji, Shion Kaji, Talia Lavin, Dave Lauer, Becca Lewis, Anthony Padilla, Andy Parker, Nitasha Tiku Tyler, Susan Wojcicki, Brianna Wu, Natalie Wynn and Jillian C. York.

This Saturday July 8th at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Liberty Street, NYC.
