We are expanding again!!!  C. A. Goldberg, PLLC is thrilled to announce our two new positions:  1) Associate attorney with 5-8 years of litigation experience and 2) Director of Client Strategy.

We are a growing Brooklyn based law firm that fights for victims of online harassment, sexual assault and blackmail.  Our cases involve nonconsensual pornography, online harassment, rape, blackmail, domestic violence, litigation against anti-abortion vigilantes, and Title IX lawsuits.

POSITION 1: ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

Requirements include: 5-8 years of litigation experience, a New York law license, being a feminist, passion about our mission, a proven track record litigating cases from beginning to end, extensive trial experience, compliance with our office’s stringent privacy and security policies, enviable oral communication skills, precise and refined written skills, somebody we can trust to be a strong and proud ambassador of our firm and its missions.

The position entails all aspects of litigation, administrative complaints with the Office for Civil Rights, tort and title IX cases against school districts, personal injury, family offense petitions, college and K-12 school grievance proceedings, Internet content removal, advocacy with social media and tech companies, advocacy with law enforcers. The job requires occasional travel, as we have cases throughout the country.

We are looking for somebody who is compassionate toward our clients in the office, and a gladiator on their behalf in the courtroom. He or she must be collegial and fun, industrious and strategic.  Coping skills are a must: our cases are intense.  Exposure to disturbing and sexually graphic material is a regular part of the job.  Our firm – and all employees here — must have a high risk tolerance when it comes to bringing novel cases and dealing with haters, and a zero risk tolerance when it comes to safeguarding our clients’ privacy (Many of our clients are celebrities or public figures. We will come after you if you ever divulge anything about any of our clients. Sorry to make a threat in a job announcement, but we are serious.). The ideal applicant has a background in civil rights and/or personal injury and working with traumatized individuals.  Major bonus points if you are admitted in CA too.

Desired start date: July 15, 2017. Salary commensurate with experience, but we’re not talking big law. Quarterly Bonuses.  Benefits included.

POSITION 2: DIRECTOR OF CLIENT STRATEGY

The firm strives to help potential clients make an informed choice as to whether to use the services of the firm and to educate them on their options through a personalized conversation.

The Director of Client Strategy (“DOCS”) is responsible for conducting all consultations with potential new clients and will shepherd these individuals through the process of becoming a client of ours. Duties include meeting with potential new clients, running conflicts checks, drafting letters of engagement, making referrals, working closely with our legal team, tracking data for owner, attending trainings and events related to our practice area and client base,

The ideal candidate has a college degree and is experienced in social work, sales, paralegal, victim advocacy or intake. We will consider individuals with law degrees, but this is not a lawyering job. Nor is it a stepping stone position to becoming a lawyer at our firm. The most important qualifications are: a calm and calming demeanor, intelligence, great listening skills, and belief in our mission.  Our clients are in distress and this position is one of their first points of contact. We need communication–oral and written–to be refined and precise. The candidate must be protective of our clients and our staff, and have good intuition. Coping skills are a must: our cases are intense. Exposure to disturbing information and sexually graphic material is a regular part of the job. We are looking for someone who is self-contained and emotionally mature. We have a zero tolerance policy for breaches of confidentiality.  So be somebody who honors privacy.
