Revenge Porn Site Shuttered in FTC v MyEx.com; our declaration submitted as evidence! (June 22, 2018)

MyEx.com, a prolific revenge porn website with a business model dependent on the humiliation of victims, was ordered to be shut down. The Federal Trade Commission, state of Nevada, and U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada filed a complaint against the operators – Shad Applegate and EMP Media – for publishing sexually intimate images of people without their consent. On top of the non-consensual distribution, many victims had to pay ” $499 to $2,800″ in removal fees.

We are grateful that the court considered some of our clients’ experiences in dealing with MyEx.com before making its determination.
