“HATE CRIMES IN CYBERSPACE” BY DANIELLE CITRON: A MUST-READ FOR THOSE WITH INTERNET CONNECTION.

Professor Danielle Keats Citron possesses one of my favorite minds in the galaxy.  So, I was delighted when she asked me to review her new book, Hate Crimes in Cyberspacerecently released by Harvard University Press.  When I received the manuscript from her editors a couple months ago, I almost threw those pages into the air, as if showering in newfound money.

My impressions of the book are set forth in the 15 page New England Law Review article for On Remand (Yes! Long, I know, but that’s what the editors wanted and there was plenty of fodder to fill those pages) submitted, and coming soon.  So I won’t go into detail here.  I promise the review is not at all colored by Danielle’s lovely acknowledgement:

“CARRIE GOLDBERG IS A PHENOMENAL LAWYER WORKING HARD TO REPRESENT CYBER HARASSMENT VICTIMS AND PROVIDING US WITH INSPIRATION.”

It’s a privilege to share the paragraph with crews I so adore from Without My Consent and Cyber Civil Rights Initiative:  Mary Anne Franks, Holly Jacobs, Erica Johnstone, Charlotte Laws, and Colette Vogele.

The book is recommended reading for lawyers, judges, students, educators, parents, and anybody with an internet connection.
