Associate Needed for Victims’ Rights Law Firm

December 11, 2017

C.A. Goldberg, PLLC is a Brooklyn-based litigation law firm that fights for targets of sexual assault, blackmail, and stalking.

Our legal team handles cases relating to tort and Title IX cases against school districts,  nonconsensual pornography, Internet content removal, sexual assault, extortion, privacy cases for abortion providers, family offense petitions, college and K-12 school grievance proceedings, advocacy with social media and tech companies, referrals to local and federal law enforcers, and complex litigations against companies and individuals that abuse and destroy.

Requirements include at least 3 years of experience and a New York law license. Bonus points if you’re admitted to practice in California.

You must be someone who appreciates the law as the creative tool it is. Our cases are not normal.  Our adversaries are often blustery, behemoth power-mongers with legal counsel to match. We only want people who are brave enough to challenge precedent, outdated laws, and aren’t afraid of our opposing parties who, in some cases, are worth billions of dollars more than our clients. We don’t care where you went to law school or the grades you received. We semi-care about your career successes but are more interested in your failures and what you learned from them.

We’re looking for:

Coping skills.  Exposure to disturbing information, traumatized clients, and sexually graphic material is a regular part of the job. You must be self-contained and emotionally mature.

Strong advocate. The applicant must be compassionate toward our clients in the office and a gladiator on their behalf in the courtroom. He or she must be collegial and fun but industrious.

Willingness to go the extra mile. Literally. The job requires occasional travel as we have cases throughout the country.

Raw Skills.  You must be an excellent and quick writer and a fab speaker.

Salary commensurate with experience but substantially lower than big law. Perks and benefits, including health insurance and career development opportunities.

To apply, email a cover letter and resume to our Office Manager, Carla, at with the subject line “Application for Associate – [First Name]”.

Our firm is committed to workplace diversity and inclusion. Multilingual and people of color are strongly encouraged to apply.
